This unique and important position is shared between two departments – Public Education and Human Resources. The incumbent will work with a variety of internal and external audiences on a daily basis. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Ideal candidates are friendly, flexible, skilled in time management, and have a strong desire to learn.

The Program Coordinator and HR Specialist coordinates the Court’s naturalization ceremony schedule and programs, acts as a Courtroom Deputy at naturalization ceremonies, and provides public education tours. The position also provides project assistance and research support by developing materials and assisting with managing public outreach programs.

This position performs work directly related to the judiciary’s mission of engaging the public as constituents and promoting a better understanding about federal courts and justice. The focus of the work is wide-ranging and includes creating public awareness and community interest in the educational resources available at the federal courthouse.

The position also provides administrative HR support by assisting with employee recruitment, onboarding, training and various other HR tasks as assigned to support a consolidated Shared Services Human Resources department. The shared services consolidated human resources office provides support to the District Court, Probation and Pretrial Services.

These efforts encompass a wide range of professional educational, developmental and research services to produce and deliver high quality events designed for employees, the public, and student visitors to the Thomas F. Eagleton United States Courthouse.

The Clerk’s Office of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri is a career-oriented organization focused on providing exceptional service to the court, members of the legal community, and the general public. Currently, we are seeking applicants for a full-time Operations Manager. The successful candidate must be a leader, highly organized, detailed and thorough, who maintains a professional demeanor at all times, and possesses a high degree of integrity and personal adaptability.

The Operations Manager is a senior-level position reporting directly to the Chief Deputy of Operations, and responsible for the day-to-day administration and supervision of operations. The Operations Manager has regular interactions with the judges, high-level officials of other agencies, members of the bar, and the public. The Operations Manager assists the Chief Deputy of Operations in providing management and leadership of all non-judicial functions of the court including but not limited to; case management, courtroom services, case reporting; process and staff development and management; strategic planning, and other duties as assigned. The position requires an individual with the technical experience and leadership skills necessary to carry out a multitude of administrative and operational responsibilities with confidence and efficiency.

The Eastern District of Missouri serves the Eastern Division (14 counties including St. Louis City and St. Louis County), Northern Division (17 counties), and Southeastern Division (18 counties). The main office is in Saint Louis, MO, with divisional offices in Cape Girardeau, MO and Hannibal, MO. The Court is currently comprised of 8 district judges, 5 senior judges, and 8 magistrate judges

The position is a full-time appointment with the Eastern District of Missouri. Official Court Reporters are responsible for the verbatim reporting of both civil and criminal proceedings held before the United States District Judges, and as directed for proceedings before Magistrate Judges, and for the transcription of those proceedings upon request. All proceedings shall be reported using electronic machine shorthand equipment that produces an electronic storage media capable of translation and printing by computer-assisted transcription equipment. All court reporters shall be required to record via electronic sound recording equipment (magnetic/digital) all proceedings in this District and shall maintain the electronic media in their custody until separation from duty.

Official Court Reporters provide transcripts within the time and cost limitations set by the Judicial Conference; electronically file with the Clerk of Court a copy of all prepared transcripts concurrently with delivery to the requesting parties. Fees for transcripts sold to private parties are established by the Judicial Conference and are retained by the Official Court Reporter.

Although this position is based in St. Louis, all Court Reporters are expected to serve all judges of the court and travel to Cape Girardeau and Hannibal Divisional courthouses on occasion is required. Court Reporters serve under the appointing authority of the Clerk of Court, are guided by and responsible for following policies and administrative procedures contained in the Court Reporter Management Plan for the Eastern District of Missouri, and the personnel policies applicable to the employees of the Clerk of Court. Court Reporters are expected to do all other duties as assigned.
